Hey!
I have a question about remote control
The fall is now started and cold morning and nights are back ( little inside: The next morning when i was going to school i had a 3 color car, white black and grey..)
Well i want to have a remote control so i could start it 3-4 minute before going into the car and it would be already Hot and ready to drive, but do our car need a special model since we got a ''special'' keys
I am tired of getting nthe car and getting back into the house letting it run and warm itself, when its -30, -35 its bether on the mecanic.
also:
Do you have one?? if so wich model?? comments??
Thanks everyone

I would try to help you, but I don't know what year this is for?
I just got one installed on my 92 ES, and no problems there. There is not chip in the key or anything.
I have a compustar P2WSHLCD-A installed right now and it seems to work great. The only thing that you need to make sure though is if you install an aftermarket remote starter, you need to program to have the doors unlocked first then the car started and then have the doors locked. Unless you want your car to honk crazy when you try to start your car.
- my thoughts on this alarm? its ok but i find the buttons easy to press and at times confusing.
Before this I had an Autostart AS-6850TW-FM. I loved this alarm/remote starter combo. Easy to use, and was really loud so when the alarm went off, i could hear it. I only had that system for about 1.5 years but it was really reliable.
I would choose the Autostart over the Compustar personally.

Remote starter = waste of money.
Idling the car (especially on a cold engine) is bad for
- the spark plugs
- gas
- cat
Proper starting procedure
- start the car
- let it idle for 10 seconds
- drive away slowly (no hard acceleration) until the engine reaches operating temperature

when its -50 below block heater will only help so much, you still need to start it every once and a while
PLUS
I dont get a plug in at work.
if the guy wants to get a remote start and feels its necessary, why not let them?
