so I did a 99 es300 knock sensors the other day. guy brought his car to two shops and because his check engine light came up knock sensors, both shops said knock sensors.

so I ordered 2 and did it for him. everything is fine, reset light and boom comes back on. So now its either wiring or ECU.

any ideas?
is the only way to check continuity for the knock sensor connector, from doing it directly from the connector to ECU with a volt meter? Cuz thats basically doing the same work as changing the knock sensors, got to take off the manifold. so he just spent 500 to get the knock sensors for nothing, they prob werent bad at all.

does anyone know how to turn off the check engine light temporaily until its fixed?

check both sensors if one or any is reading continuity tapped in the one that works and feed it to the ecm,but dont disconet the plug....
