Hey guys heres the deal. I have a 99ES and recently and last week I had to take it into the shop becuase the car has been having problems starting. The car is getting plenty of power but will not turn over for the first 45 seconds but will always end up turning over. When I took it in they told me there was a loose terminal cable that was slightly coroded cleaned it up didnt have problems for a week. Two days ago I tried to turn over and the same problem a few times to turn it over. When it turned over the engine reved up to 2000rpm and would fluctuate from 1500-2000rpm's I thought that was weird so I tried turning the car off and take the keys out and the engine wouldnt die and the starter starting back up while the engine was still running while the key was out. It took about 8 seconds then the car finally turned off. The car started and ran fine after that. And as of now still every 1 out of 4 starts it wont turn over once or twice then does.
I need some advice guys I know its always good with CL.

I had the same problem and same symptoms in our 94 ES last year. It was really strange. Several times the car seemed to be "dieseling." I had not experienced that in many years.
Replacing the starter solved all the problems.
Thankfully, the starter in the ES models is easily accessible and is available at reasonable prices. Be grateful you don't have an LS with starter problems.
