trunk release inop
the trunk release switch on my drivers door is now inop. stopped working after having oil pan resealed and rear shocks replaced. dont see how those could be related but you never know. anyone have an idea? 95 es300

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the 95's do have the trunk release switch in the glove compartment (for disabling/enabling the trunk release button) I would check to make sure that this is not set to disabled (I know on mine, in means enabled, out means disabled.)

Another problem is quickly resolved thanks to the knowledgeable, helpful and friendly CL ES staff! There's a similar problem that crops up every so often - the keyless entry disable switch to the left of the steering wheel. I've lost count of the number of ppl who have asked why the button on their key stopped unlocking the doors. They didn't know about the disable switch on the dash, which probably got bumped accidentally.

And yet, here's another ..... I noticed a week or two ago that my trunk release (96 ES 300) on the door chose not to work and I was puzzled since no fuses were blown or anything else "showed up". I knew a button was in the glovebox, but thought that was a backup if the door switch broke? However, after viewing the posts in this thread the problem is now gone. C.L. does it again!
I used to think it was just a secondary trunk pop button until I started messing with it

its basically so u can disable the trunk release and then lock ur glovebox. that way no one can bust the window and reach in and pop it open. obviously if they wanna get in ur trunk they can but its just a pain in the *** and would end up jus costing u a window instead of ur whole sound system
