Pep Boys had a sale on seat covers so I decided it was time to look for two seat covers with good fit and material. Looking through their whole selection, it was easy to narrow it down quickly. There were few options with any hint of tan and most material felt coarse. After careful consideration, I picked one with a separate headrest cover. After installing it on one seat, it was okay for the most part, but fit very loosely and looked and felt very cheap on the sides (it was a different material) than pictured on the packaging. Exchanged it for my second pick and needless to say, this one had much poorer fitment (no problems with material feel on this one though).

Penguin seat covers (looking in your direction, Monkiee) - don't want my glass broken over these seat covers though. They are also more expensive than Pep Boys most expensive seat covers. (!)

Are there any good seat covers that fit our seats well and are of decent quality? Or should I look into side window shades for protection? It is mainly the harsh sun that I want to protect the seats from.

 

I wouldn't be caught dead with a set of cheap seat covers on my Lex. If you are trying to protect them from sun damage, then yeah, definitely go with dark tint on your windows. And even if you do put seat covers on, get the dark tint anyway. Then no one will be able to look inside and see those ugly Pepboys covers

I got the company send the sample of the tan, and it matches perfectly. There is a guy on this forum that had some ordered for his 2gES and they fitted pretty good.

 

Did you read the description at the bottom of the ebay page?
