I've been searching online for an HID Conversion Kit for my 97 ES and came across this website. They are advertising an HID Kit for 40.99! I dont know...seems to good (cheap) to be true. Here's the link http://www.vvme.com/product/detail-20023.html . What do you guys think? Is it worth it, or should I invest in a more reputable brand? As always, all advice is greatly appreciated!

I wouldn't buy them, but that's just me. I preferred to go with one of our CL sponsors/vendors: Xenondepot
I have nothing but good things to say about their product and their customer service. Plus, if anything does go wrong with the HID conversion kit I bought (I don't anticipate any problems) I always know I can find and talk to Steve (a.k.a. xenondepot) in the CL lighting forum.

I would stick with a more reputable brand IMO. It's like buying a Ford or a Lexus. You choose.

that seems like an incredibly cheap deal. I would do a lot of research before making the investment.

I'll be different..

I actually have a set of these in my current lexus, have it in my old accord, my dad's van and my gf's civic. They all seem to work fine. It was on my accord for about 2 years, and my gf's civic for about the same. No problems on either one of them, no flickering or ballasts being shot.

I would imagine for them to eventually go, however I am quite surprised how well these have lasted. I went ahead on making the purchase for my lexus for the very fact that I think i'll end up upgrading my car in the next two years.

You will get better service with xenon depot, and easier to deal with in case anything goes wrong. Plus by the sounds of it they will probably last a long time.

Like I said the kit that I have has lasted 2+ years now, but I am expecting to start failing sometime in the near future.

Wow! Thanks for all the feedback Fiddy yen, as far as light output and color, how would you rate these bulbs? I'm looking to get 4300K, most likely. What do you have in your cars?

All of mine have 6000k. As far as output goes, I don't have much to compare it to because they are all the same. I have them in my lexus and they have more blue than white. personally, next time I'll be going with 4300k.

It looks legit...I wouldn't risk putting it in the headlight housing though, maybe for the fogs.

DDM AKA Apexcone were selling for $50 last time I checked. From what they told me, it'll soon be $35 for the big ballasts. If you are in the market for them, I would suggests waiting and seeing if their sale is good enough for you

i bought my hid's from ebay for $70 shipped.. 1+ years and still good.. price might not make too much of a difference
