Default Need Wheel Help ASAP! (2ES related)

Found a great set of 17" GS400 wheels for a great price in my area. I'm in need of new tires so I figured that I could upgrade if these do not require much modification on my part. I'm sort of hoping they just drop in lol

Anyway, I'm a wheel noob so you guys should be able to read these numbers 245 45 17. Will they fit the 2ES with almost no problems? If I do need to mod something, what will I need to do? Please help me out guys, I'm getting tired of my stock 15 chromies and this is my first step into wheel mods

Here is a pic of what they look like

I don't think it will work perfect. You see the way tire sizes work is the first number is the width, the second number is the height and the last number is the rim size. You should really have a 215 50 17 tire to fit well and keep your speedo correct. I'm not saying these won't fit at all I'm just saying they're gonna be wide.

So would you guys advise against it? I know that it either increases or decreases the speed you are going but what else does it do? I would ask the guy if I can put them on but yeah, I don't know how trusting he is

I know one member who used it in the past so I PM'd him but he hasn't responded. I guess I'll factor in his response along with you guys

Im not saying that the rims won't fit. Im just saying that the tires are wide so you might need a spacer of have to sell the tires and get new ones. On a side not your speedo isn't gonna be off by more than .5mph. Google the maiata tire calculator it will tell you more. I mean how much are the rims gonna cost you?

245 45 17 -> 225 40 17 to fit w/o problems
the ideal fit should be 215 50 17, but it will not clear the rear struts, and you can no longer go to costco to get your tires changed.

I kinda wished i kepted my old 15in rims...they cost less, less road noise, more comfortable..

Beaware of people selling you parts from accident-cars, the wheels may be bent.

K, I'll look into that. The idea was to use the current ones on there but maybe it'll work better this way for me. Hmm...

Haha, you read my mind on the Costco part. I was sorta hoping it wasn't going to come to that. Now I have something to mull over when I meet up with the guy to inspect the wheels

For that price buy them!!! On another note you may have to ask a place if they can align your car before had I had to bring mine to two places to get mine done.

That's a good deal. You'll need a small spacer in the rear to clear the rear struts. Might need to roll the rear fenders because they will be flusher than the 15's. They would look nice on your car.
