ES300 As Reliable As LS400??

Can't say I don't agree. That comes down to the cost to worth ratio. Still on the original point it does not mean it is more RELIABLE. Which was the original question.

I guess I have a first hand perspective on the question of reliability. I've owned both a
LS400 and ES300, same year, 2000.
At 59k, my LS had a few broken interior pieces, the dark paint showed some wear, and the front end components were clunking.
At 90k, my ES is in better shape.
Perhaps this is strictly due to diligent service by the previous ES owner. I don't know.
But I do believe that my ES is in better cosmetic and mechanical shape.
I guess my original question is whether I can expect my drivetrain to provide years of
trouble free service, which I had faith in with my LS400.
It seems like most here feel that the 6 cyl drivetrain is as robust as the 8 cylinder.

First I have to say that you prob didn't think you would spark such a heated debate when you asked this question but still I have to say yes.....again. Now point being made there will be a point where its value doesn't warrant fixing but you most likely will sell it before it reaches that point. So again I say yes the drivetrain is very reliable and I'd like someone to PROVE me wrong.
