I'd like to know if replacing the left headlight assembly in my 96 ES300 with a headlight assembly from a 94 ES300 can be done. Will it fit properly? ![Uhh...](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/1387914497.gif)
They look the same when comparing an online photo of the 94 to what's on my 96, but I'd hate to buy it and then find out it won't fit. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks
ps I know, it's posted in the lighting forum, just looking here also for feedback

AFAIK, you can safely replace your headlight assembly with any other 2nd generation (1992-1996) ES300. One thing I've noticed though is that some of them have three horizontal lines running across the clear plastic outer lens and some (like mine) don't. I'm not sure if that depends on the year or whether it's because mine is a Canadian model. Maybe all USDM models have the lines?

This is why I am asking around, to see if there are any idiosyncrasies between the years. Like the change from round fogs on 92-94 (possibly 95) to the rectangular ones on the 96's. The headlight I'm looking at looks exactly like my 96, but I don't know if it has the same inside setup to be installed on a 96.
Thanks for the advice, keep it coming if you can think anything else...

charley & tuan - Thanks! I've looked at the headlights on my car probably 100's of times and never noticed the "horizontal lines" or "lining" you guys mention. Right side would stay on my car (with those 3 lines) and the 94 light I was gonna buy would be smooth throughout (not w/ 3 lines). Boy would that have looked dumb
Fortunately I don't urgently need one, it's just that the left shows more "mileage" than the right side. Thanks again
