Default Question about rim and tire fitment

I was wondering if anyone has done anything 18x8 +43 and 18x9 +38 in the rear with the car lowered. Would these fit my car without any problems or fender rolling? and what size tires would be good for them? maybe if I strech my tires?? how big of a strech??

Any advice would help.. Thanks.

your concern shouldn't be stretched tires, but with those widths and offsets, you will more than likely rub the strut housing. highest width you can go on a +43 offset is 7.5 i believe. any wider is going to rub guaranteed. with a 9 width, you're going to have to run really aggressive offsets, around +25 or so.

If you're looking to run aggressive wheels, run an 8.5 width with an offset b/t +20 and +25. That should give you pretty close to fender flush fit. If you run a 9 width, then you will have to run mad camber with a +23 offset to get it flush.

As far as stretched tires go, if you're looking to get it flush, go with a 205 on the 8.5 and a 215 on the 9 and slam the car

So the 9 +38 will fit if I throw on like a 15 mm spacer? I am on Ksport full coilovers right now but planning to bag the car. maybe hybrid air. I was worried it might stick out to far and I would have to raise the car.

yeah you could run spacers...I dont like the idea of spacers but thats just me. Charley240 has a 19 x 9 +23 offset setup on his car. With some camber, it shouldn't be a problem after some fender shaving.

yeah, plate is on point with his offset stuff.
what he said was correct.
and depending on your setup, you may just have to trim the fender lips so slightly.

if you're going to run the 9 width +38 offset, then yes, you need the spacer. do you already have the wheels?

Nope but I will get them soon. Already talked to one of the venders here about the spacers too. I want the wheels first before I do get them though. Would I have a problem if I do hybrid air with these wheel?

Don't screw around with 205 or 215 series tires. You want 225/40/18 all around it will keep your speedo accurate and won't effect your fit. As far as the rims I agree that they will fit with a spacer but your gonna have to totally delete the rear fender not just grind it a little and your going to have to roll the fronts as well.

running those aggressive offsets, you will more than likely need a slight stretch if not a moderate one to get the wheels to fit. just depends on how flush the original poster wants it. 215 on an 8.5 isn't too much either, very moderate stretch.

Front too?? The front is 18x8 +43 though.. I would like them as flush as possible. I just rolled the rear but I guess if I need the fronts I will do those 2morrow. I dont know what size tires I would need to get and I dont want to just try tire sizes and see what fits best thats why I am asking on here.

front will need spacers as well to be flush. You will need a mild stretch to be low and flush for sure.

if you want a reference on tires sizes as far as stretching and clearance goes, look in the VIP subforum. Search and there should be a thread on stretched tires. I would definitely run a 205 on the 8 and a 215 on the 9. However, I would opt to just run an 8.5 width all the way around. You really aren't gaining anything by running a staggered setup. good luck.

yeah, you need spacers for front, and if you want flush and low, youll need stretch tires as well.
