Default Differences between 97 ES300 LXS and S

Is there a way to tell the difference between an 97 ES300 LXS and a 97 ES300 S? Are there any visual clues that will give away what the model is? From what I have read the S didn't come with electric seats, whereas the LXS did. Is this true? If it is are electric seats easy to install into the S?

Any other differences that you would be able to look at and go well this is an S and that is an LXS?

I've never even heard of a LXS or a S. As far as I knew there wasn't any option packages.

See his location.

There is no such model option available in North America.

Ah should have figured. In Australia we got 2 options for the ES300 being an LXS or S. About the only difference is that the "S", which is one I will go and have a look at tomorrow, doesn't have power seats.

That's just strange I knew that you have the jdm version of the es but I've just never heard of those options packages. Now the 2.5 and 3.0 option I was aware of just not the LXS and S option. Even more strange is that the only difference is just power seats. I did some research on google.com.au and saw it first hand. As far whether or not you could put the power seats in. I don't see a reason why not. As long as you get power and ground to it. It should work. Now an even better was to approach this is to put the heated power seats in and switch out the center console . Oh on another note. We don't have very many aussie friends here so its not often I get to ask this but. If you get a chance find out what a set of corner lights would cost for our cars from the local junk yard. They are very hard to come by here in jdm. Good luck and I hope you like the es

Yeah it is strange as I would expect that all Lexus' would at least have electric seats in them. Oh well. I did log another thread on here for a possibility and opinions, as I may or may not get the ES300 depending on what deal the dealer offers me. I'll find out tomorrow. I am eventually leading my way up to getting my GS300 one day, but would be nice to step back into a Lexus again after having 4 SC coupes.

I am planning to see if I can swap out the seats or more correctly see if I can work out how the motors attach the original seats, and also whether or not the seat rails would be different and then change from there, but that's dependant on if I am able to get the car or not

I will try and do some searching and see what sort of price I would be able to get the JDM side corner lights for and if I am lucky see if I can find out a cost to the US.
