Door Lock Again
I have a MY97 ES300 where the remote controls sort-of work. The car will unlock and lock with the key without a problem. The car will also lock with the button labelled "lock" on my remote. However the car will not unlock or open the boot by using the remote.
I have tried it on both remote controls, and they don't won't work. Only the LOCK button will work. I have already replaced the batteries on both controls to see if this was causing the issue.
I have been searching the forum so far and haven't come across this situation as yet. Any advice please?

When you press the unlock/open button do you hear any response? If both remotes are acting the same, that would indicate that it is probably not a remote issue. Does the trunk open button on the drivers door work?

When I press the LOCK button I hear a "beep" from the car and the front, rear and light lights flash once quickly. I can also hear the doors lock.
The trunk and fuel lid buttons on the drivers side of the car (buttons to the right of the steering column - as that's where mine is) does open the boot and fuel lid.

97 trunk release.doc
I found this TSB in Alldata, it appears to describe the issues that you are having with you trunk release. I don't know if the parts are still available (probably not). But may be you could try routing the harness as far away from the controller as possible,

Actually thanks for all the help that George Jet, I just fixed the car with the Remote Keyless Entry Programming Procedure via https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es3...al-tips-2.html
It seems to have sorted the button out now and I can lock the car, unlock the car (double press unlocks all doors) and even the boot button now works successfully. Looks like the keys somehow forgot their programming.
Next question is I have another set of keys, do I have to do the same thing with those? If I do, will it override the code for my other set of keys or will it just program the responders to talk with the car?
