I am getting ready to do a complete sterio install in my 96 ES300. Just wondering if Nate recieved his install kit yet and what he thinks of the quality and match to the existing factory trim? Btw what was the cost? Hope to see pics soon!

Looks good - is it possible for the ES to keep the standard CD player/cartridge + an additional 12 changer somwhere else iin the car (Possibly in the center console)? If you had 2 changers, would it even be possible to have the original screen read the cd info?

I was wondering the same thing. I have the stock head unit in but some of the lights are not working in it and I wanted a double din sized replacement or another stock radio to take up the space. I would prefer something that will control the 6-disc changer in the glove box but I would love something with a changer in the head unit too and the ability to play all of the discs. Does anyone have any idea of a decent unit that will look good in the spot? I also want to stick with the black look cuz I hate the silver radios when they are installed.....it just doesn't look right to me.

yeah i put in a pioneer DEH-P8500MP in my 93 ES. I used the metra dash kit and harness(http://www.metraonline.com/locator.a...del=341&type=7) , both bought from http://www.ashoppingparadise.com/ash...lexesradi.html (the store seemed shady, but they shipped it out quick and I had them both at my door in like 3 days).
I'll take a whole bunch of pics and post them when i get a chance.
I ran into a dilemma with the antenna. The deck doesn't have seperate power-controls for the amp and power antenna, it's just one "remote turn-on" wire. I wired that to both the amp turn-on and the antenna, but then the antenna is up even if i'm listening to CD's. I don't listen to the radio much (if ever) and i don't really want my antenna up if i'm not using it (just one more thing that could break). I wired in a tiny switch on the side of the carpeting next to where your right knee would be (if you were driving). The switch is a basic momentary, normally open switch, so that when you push the button the antenna goes up and stays up until the stereo (or car) is turned off. I like the set up, you just have to hold the button for about 6 seconds and the antenna goes all the way up.
I'll start a thread with some pics when i get a chance.
