Talking [2ES] Boulevardier Brake Update Time

on its way from LuxuryMods.com (CL vendor) to my house for the ES300. A little Christmas gift for my dear, dear Boulevardier.

Goodridge stainless steel brake lines, Duplicolor caliper paint and Hawk HPS pads are already stacked and waiting in the garage.

I've been reading up on caliper upgrades, searching WAY BACK to the early days of the ES forum, and while there's a LOT of chatter about them, a) there are no substantial aftermarket caliper upgrades for the 2ES, and b) they're not really required/necessary. So I'll dress up what I've got and enjoy what I can install new.

Default double-piston front brake calipers

That's not a bad price at all...

AFAIK, the ES 300 went to double-piston front brake calipers for MY95. Can anyone confirm, and can these be fitted in pre-95's?

As far as the slotted and cross-drilled difference - meh. I mainly like the look (something different from what I've had before).
The Goodridge stainless steel brake lines though??? MWAH! Wonderful! Lovely! Brilliant!
Brake pedal feel is much more linear and involving now.

Lookin Excellent SLoooow, nice job with your brake overhaul.

i might have to stock up and follow suite! Loving the Look, Celleste would be a bad B*tch once she is suited and booted, just has brembo standard rotors, and Hawks HPS on there now, and i think i might need to replace them...

I bought some Hawk HPS as well for this brake system change, but the pads I have on there from the previous change are still in such awesome condition that I decided to keep 'em on there until they're gone.

With the Brembo blanks (same thing I have on my SC) and the Hawk pads, it sounds like you're sittin' pretty as it is. I like the way the Brembos look on my SC behind the XXR 962s. The only change I'd make is a changeover to the stainless steel brake lines. They're available all over, including Tire Rack.

Thanks, bro! They look sharp enough in person. I like the way they back up the shiney meshies. The most impressive thing thus far has been the new brake lines for sure!

I'm SORELY tempted to pick some of those up now that they're priced SO nicely, and LuxuryMods has been a JOY to deal with to-date. I'll be surprised if I don't have some in the virtual cart before June is over.

yeah i wonder if they got them for 145 with the slim ballasts, cause that would be hot... i got a pair of xenon works that i bought last october for celleste for her birthday, but i paid 250 for them, 8k, and they included the slim ballasts, makes it much easier to store, especially in the compartment where the lights would be located... prob get them for my fogs

Very nice Slooww... keep up the good work.

With my choice of rim.... it makes everything so visible ... I'll have to think about going to same path ur on & paint brakepad assembly to have the Lexus logo on it soon.

BTW Slowww .. what does all that stats on your sig mean?...are u a CS addict or something?

Nice upgrade, definetly a + in my books. If I was keeping the ES, I'd do this for sure. On the cross drilled vs slotted brakes, in real high performance applications, some type of cross drilled rotors aren't favoured because of the possibility of cracking at the weak points of the cross drilled sections. But that's under real high performance braking and use. Should be excellent on the ES!
