I don't get it, I installed the front pads a year ago and had no problem with the install but I just tried installing some new pads in the rear and I can't get the caliper to close. The piston is all the way in as I'm able to close the caliper over it but where the bolt would go to lock down the caliper, I can't get the caliper to fully close.
I went to an auto parts store to compare thickness and they were all the same thickness.
What gives?
Thanks for any help.

lol, didn't want to point out the obvious or anything. Just checking. Hmm. I'm not sure what you mean really. If you can close the calipor, meaning sliding it over the top of the pad into standard position ready for the bolt to be placed in to hold it shut, then um, where is the problem? Because you have new pads on the rear, they are thicker after all, so you should have less amount of room to put the bolt in.
I think it's too late for me atm, new years eve and all.
Someone else might know.
