Default Valvoline Synthetic or Mobil1 Synthetic?

I've been running Mobil1 5w30 with Mobil1 EP Filter every 7500miles, and I've been thinking about switching to Valvoline Synthetic5w30 with Genuine Toyota Filter every 5000miles. Which setup would you go with??

0W-30 is better, especially in cold climes. Synthetic filters are better. I've seen Genuine Toyota filters that didn't even have an anti-drainback valve!

I use Amsoil for both.

Don't use the valvoline. They consistantly score low in the industry tests. I ran their full synthetic 5w-30 instead of mobil one one time because it was on sale. The car ran terribly, noticeable loss of power, idled like a diesel. I drained it after 1500 miles. Never again.

I change my OEM oil filter every 4k miles or so. I run on synthetic and change every 8k miles.

I have used valvoline many times with no problem. Are you sure your problem was oil related?

And my 97 ES300 has 200k miles on it. I have used different brands of synthetic oil and I can't tell any difference under normal driving circumstances.

I have other vehicles with similar mileages and I have used different brands of oil.....I can't tell the difference.

People are funny about oil brands. I have a friend who says that Valvoline is great and Pennzoil and Quaker State are crap....go figure

One thing we do know...Mobil sued Quaker for selling cracked hydrocarbon as pure synthetic.

1 oil change = 2 filters??
