Hello Everyone,
This is my first post as I just registered. I just bought my first lexus. Its a 1993 ES 300, with 58,000 original miles on it and I got it for $3,600. Did I get a good deal and what are the major problems I should look out for. There is one problem with it that I want to fix ASAP. When you lock the doors (either with the key or the remote) the drivers door will come unlocked and open if you pull the outside handle two or three times. The alarm will go off and everything but I just don't want to risk someone breaking in. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome aboard! Wow, low mileage! Not a bad deal at all if the car has been well maintained. Any service records? If your other door locks are working OK I'd say you'll probably need to remove the drivers inside door panel and have a look at the locking mechanism. You might see something that explains why the door is unlocking when you pull up on the door handle.

Thank You Very Much!!! I have all service records and the car is immaculate. Next door neighbor can't drive anymore and wanted to sell it, so I bought it. I have taken the door panel off and everything looks like it is working fine. when you pull on the outside door handle or even the inside door handle the rod and evrything moves a little with each pull.

58k! OMG. That is crazy. On a 93! Should have a long long life left ahead of it, if it's not a lemon.
