If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. My 93 ES300 with 94K just locked into Park. I was able to get it into Drive by popping the cap off the overide on the shift console and pushing the button and moving it to Neutral. As soon as I put it back into Park, it locks again and I have to go through the process again. Lexus stated that they believe it is the solenoid in the console and it may just might need to be cleaned. If anyone else has had this same issue, please let me know and how you resolved the issue.

thats really strange.. this happened to me once when i put it into park, turned my car off and then on, and for the life of me i could not put it into drive. all i did was wait a little while, took my key out, and tried again and i got it into drive. let me know if you figure anything out because if it does happen again i'd like to know why.. we've got the same car so

 

check your break light switch.i had a 98 honda accord that did the same thing come to find out the break light switch went bad.the break light switch control the solenoid in the shifter linkage to make it shift from park.

you got me thinking and I checked what happened when I put my foot on the brake and guess what? No brake lights! I checked my fuse in the panel and the 25A fuse for the stop lights had blown and the plastic in the fuse panel had melted. So now I have to take it in to see if it needs to replaced or if it can be fixed.
