I'm installing an in dash navigation head unit and am not sure of exactly where to mount the GPS antenna. I'm torn between the dash, the back right near the 3rd brake light, and the trunk. I'd like to get opinions from people that have installed one of these so I don't end up having to move it after it's already installed. I'm going for a clean stock looking install that doesn't impede the functioning of the antenna.
Opinions?

On my Alpine nav system, I placed the GPS antenna in the top left hand corner of the windshield (inside of course
). It has perfect "line of sight" to get info. from the satellites and is out of the way. I didn't want to bury it behind the dash or put in an obscure area or have it sitting outside the car (has magnetic bottom).
I'm sure others have placed it elsewhere while still acheiving the same results.
HTH you.....
