03' ES - Rheostat/**** under dash?

Hey everyone
i just recently purchased a 2003 ES300 premium package and i was cleaning under the dash and located a small rheostat turn **** to the right of the steering wheel under the steering column, and i cant seem to figure out what in the world it controls or if its even an oem provision
does anyonw have this **** or know what it controls?

i think its the vol. for the "beep" lock/unlock
