Default Car shuts off completely while driving

Hey I have encountered a problem that has started with my es yesterday after i took it to get my oil changed at kauffman tire. I have been driving around with it last night and today and every now and then it will randomely shut off completely. The lights will flicker the music cuts in and out and I lose power at the wheel completely for half a second to sometimes a second and then it reboots itself. After it reboots the ABS light comes on and stays on for about 5 seconds.

Loose battery terminals? Battery could be going out as well as the alternator.

can you explain the reboot process? and as part of that explanation, can you tell if the engine is running and what the transmission is up to

this info will help me isolate to an accessory failure, belt failure, or other problem

The battery is pretty new as it is only 2 months old.. The rebooting process is so quick it's hard to describe but the car stops and kind of jerks and all of the lights flicker and anything thats electrical cuts in and out. I appreciate everyones help.

I had this problem with my Accord a few years back. It turned out to be that the ignition switch had a short in it.

was the engine off...? I mean you didn't explain that very much....! Take it to the dealer immediately. This is a massively unsafe car [at present].

Well im not sure if the engine was off.. because everything came back on almost instantly and if the engine was off wouldn't I have to restart the car? I did lose power at the wheel though. I set up an appointment to diagnose the electrical system.. but if they do find the problem I don't know if I will be able to handle the repair cost.

you know this happen a to me a few days ago, thank god i was only in the parking lot and not the freeway. Try cleaning your terminals and battery cable connectors well with sandpaper. This has happeneded to me before and its because the battery terminals and connectors get chemical build up on it( i think its sulfur or w/e) Anyways try that, and they make sure u tighten the cables good and have good connectiong.

this happened to me a few times. i would be making a turn out of a parking lot and my wheel would fight me literally, idle speed would drop and almost stall and the battery light started to come on.turns out the terminals were loose. i had to put a piece of metal in each of the terminals to tighten them up.
