Default New to me 2006 Lexus ES330

Hi everybody... Going to be picking up my 2006 Lexus ES330 this week... got it for 16.5k w/ 58mi for those that are interested...

options...
Navi
HID lights
Mark Levinson
Heated/Vented seats
Power rear shade
Traction control
Driver adjustable suspension
Chrome alloys

Couple questions...

how awesome is the ML vs non-ML?
which is the way to go for ipod integration? vaistech? dice?
is it just me or is this ES forum dominated by 300's vs 330's?
what gen is the 2006 ES330 considered?

thanks... will post pics in the near future.

Pretty sure the 06 didn't have a Bluetooth option. Is it an aftermarket system installed?

They never came with Bluetooth until 07. Sounds like the dealer has miss informed you.

Congrats on the ES! Welcome to the ES family!

Ive seen more Dice w/ Lexus and ipod systems. My friends RX has a dice system works great according to her.

Yeah the ES forums is dominated by the 300s 330s due to the fact that theyve been around since 92-06. and the 350 since 07.

I believe the 06 would be considered a 4th Gen ES if Im not mistaken...

hey Rich, welcome to CL and congrats on your new ES. It's a 4th gen ES, but in 2005 it was upgraded with new taillights, front grille, ventilated seats, etc. I have the ML-NAV option too on my 05 and it's great. Sound quality is clear as crisp and plays music wonderfully.

Sweet! how do you like the silky smooth ride? I'm telling you, once you buy Lexus, you'll never buy anything else. I didn't spring for the AVS, I knew I would be changing it anyway and I heard it's hard to find aftermarket parts if your car has the AVS. It's already a b**ch to find aftermarket parts for the 4gen ES. I'm sure it's fun to play with the AVS setting though, I've never been in a 4gen ES with that.

That is somewhat true in relaibility but no car drives like a older 80's school mercedes.
I have 2002 Lexus ES300, 1993 Lexus GS300 and 2006 Lexus GS430 and I have 1993 Mercedes 300D turbodiesel w124 and no car is made like that car it was overdesigned in 80's and early 90's then the quality went down.

lol, that's funny you would say that. I had an '86 300E before buying my ES. I LOVED my Benz. I had it all through out college and it was my baby. She was fully loaded. My girl loved the seat warmers on my old Benz. MB definitely made quality cars in the eighties, but Lexus still wins with reliability. I come from a family of MB lovers. '86 560SL (this one was sold recently) but two 1990 560SL covertibles are left with a 1990 560SEC, 1999 430E, and an 02 Lexus LX470, all of them in top showroom condition. Of all these cars, my family loves the Lexus the best and that is why I bought my ES.

thanks for the warm welcome... car is now being driven... driver adjustable suspension is pretty cool... although, riding in comfort mode is too comfy to switch off to sport mode cuz it's just not as sporty as my bimmer. haha. power rear sunshade is uber cool too. just got my vaistech in, so i'll be installing and listening to my mp3 on my mark levi. woot!

Hi,
Good luck with your car! I have had only a work truck for the last 20 years so my first car since then is an 05 ES330. Mine is fairly loaded too. I have the factory Nav. with the changer in the console. I wonder if that was an add on or if it was factory. I also wonder how to tell if I have a Levenson system or not. I think that I do as the system sounds so good. I wonder if there is a definate way to tell.
It took me a while to figure out how to turn off the self lowering outside mirrors when you put the car in reverse. (I do not like it!) If interested, just put the L/R switch in the middle position and it wont tilt down anymore.
Best of Luck!!!!!!!!!

mark

The CD Changer is stock. If it says Mark Levinson to the right on the Nav screen on the trim, then it has it.
