I hear you Gerson... :-) Spent the day detailing the interior and it cleaned up nicely - the only tear is in the middle of the driver's seat bottom cushion and pretty much splits across the middle - otherwise just some scuffs on the side bolster. I've posted some before/after pics in my gallery, although since I'm only 2 days into this forum I'm not sure if or how they're viewable.

Hi,
My name is Gerson. I'm from Kansas City, Kansas but originally born and raised in Los Angeles. I am a Lube Specialist/Accessories installer at a Local Toyota/Scion dealership. I bought an 92 Lexus ES300 for $1,700 w/ 212,xxx miles. It's a Black Onyx w/ grey on the bottom (very clean). The interior is leather Ivory seats w/ tan on some areas. The engine is a 3.0L 3VZ-FE that needs work paired with a E53 5 speed manual, needing a pressure plate.
My goal is to restore the car as it came off the showroom 17 years ago and would like to do VIP-styling w/ tasteful mods. Maybe rebuild the engine and transaxle as well.
I wonder how many of u own a 5 speed ES like I do? I feel very lucky finding one w/ the long list of options I have on the car. I also own a 94 Toyota Corolla and still own it since October 2002. Click on either cardomain links to see my rides on my sig below. Comments are welcome.

If you need your cluster and needles repaired, check out Lextech.org or pm a member named O.L.T., he always has a group buy for club lexus members in the vendor marketplace. I have posted a couple pics of the custom dash he did for my ES in the February. He offers a lifetime warranty on his work. Truly amazing, in fact my local Lexus dealer was so impressed by his work that they are now sending people to his website for needle lighting issues.
Here is a link to his current group buy and my cluster pics in CL:

Cool, I cant wait 'til I tag my ES (expired, lol ). Currently sitting on the driveway for now, While I wait, I'm paying close attention to the minor details and make sure everything works. May even sell my corolla (not sure), to buy the other parts like the front exhaust pipe and pay my bills off, and taxes coming that same week . I gotta get a digital camera to take pics very soon so I can show everyone my progress.

Gerson, I got sorta lucky with this one... PA requires yearly inspections including emissions and it's stickered for another two and a half months so hopefully that'll give me some time to get the check engine light issues resolved so it will pass at the end of June. Here's one more pic...

Get new carpet (an OEM fit can be had at eBay for not much) and you got a cutie! What did you use to defog your headlights? I had one that had moisture in it, and so I bought a new one on eBay for $120 + shipping - looked so good (a polished old headlight will never look as good as a brand new one, and the light output is increased about 20X!) I bought the other side to balance it out! I also had to change a front corner light for moisture ($65) and liked IT so much I ordered a matching one for the other side. WARNING - make sure who you get your replacement lights from can guarantee you get the same brand for both sides - even though they will tell you that they are made to DOT standards etc, the DO NOT look the same, reflectors different, interior layout different, and will make it look out of sync! I found a vendor by the name of 10000grilles (DBA Headlight Warehouse) will work with you to get the same brand for both sides! About the ONLY one that would! Great guy!
Well, just did a quick search, and apparently finding carpet for a car that old is not easy!

Lexucan thanks for the props! I havent been on in a while but I just saw this thread. I have a 92 5 speed also.
Im up to about 131K miles on it. The gauges all still work fine. You can see the shifter and the lack of the "P R N D 2 L" in the center of the cluster. These cars are really sweet. Ill keep mine forever.

Gotta say that cluster of yours looks as fresh as it did 17 years ago when your ES was still on the showroom floor! I always enjoy seeing pics of your baby! And I'm with you...I have no plans to part with mine either!
