Hello everybody.
Well, i tried to replace my fuel filter on my 98 es300 (approx. 126,000mi), everything was going as planned until i tried to remove the bottom bolt on the filter connecting to the steel fuel line....it was B!@tch tight and i couldn't loosen it. The more i tried to loosen the bolt the filter would spin in the clamp that held it in place. I tried holding the fuel filter in place with a vise grip and then tried to loosen the bolt, but no luck. Long story short, bolt wouldnt loosen and i ended up bending the fuel line where it connected to the filter to a point where i thought i put a crease in it![Mad](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/mad.gif)
anybody have this sort of trouble replacing their fuel filter?
i straightend out the filter and fuel line as best as i could...no leaks
looks like i might have to take it to the dealer and dish out the money i was trying to save by doing the work myself

wow... you're supposed to use a wrench on the bottom of the filter to counter the direction of the bolt that looses the nut... no way in hell you need a visegrip if you have a wrench to put on the filter.......
you goof ball! lol I can only tell you to try again but be aware that the fuel line might be weakened. good luck buddy! :-)

both, but the local auto parts place is not goign to tell you what you need and the parts will be bent by you to fit ... whereas lexus parts will all be exactly right and cost about 20 times more. the decision is yours. I would go to my local advance auto and buy the lines and see if I can replace it myself.
