ya they look alot better in person you cant see the actual led's inside its all even in color, but ya i was having problems wit the lights goin out so decided to take it apart and see what bulb i needed to replace them then put them back in and nothing worked at all lol go figure... so i looked all over for the led replacements and could not find ****... so went and just got the blue led's wit the grond and power wires on them. took all my factory bulbs out of the climate controls and instrament panel, then i just used those holes from the factory bulbs and used some washers to to make for for the new leds.. after i was all done i sliced all the wires to the lights to 1 power and one ground then hardwired them to the headlights...

Nice, I was going to say you just need to do the radio display now, but actually it might look pretty cool keeping it seperate colours. Why isn't the red line section lighting up on the gauge cluster?

ya well i didnt do the stereo cuz i am getting a double din indash next week and the reason the red line dont show up is cuz there is a white plate behind the numbers on the dash so the color distributes evenly and well all the numbers are white so the blue glows right through but the redline is red numbers and lines so the blue dont glow through the red like it does the white... most cars have the factory green or red plates behind the cluster like pontiac has red and dodge has green so if you put different color leds in it would not make the right color unless you made a custom plate that is like white

Any pics or info on the leds you used?
Where you picked them up at. This is something I need to do due to the cars age (1992 ES 300) and would love to do blue, or maybe a different shade of green.
Thanks,
Steve

Check with a member named OLT, or check out his website at www.Lextech.org
He does instrument lighting and needle repairs. I had him do mine about 6 weeks ago with blue backlighting and red needles. It looks sharp! He also usually has a group buy in the Club Lexus Vendor forums.

I got a set (you need three of them) at my local Toyota dealership. Pretty pricey though at more than $10 per bulb. They come in a socket with a blue booty over the bulb.

there is 8 bulbs in the instrament panel to light it up! i would suggest sending it to that guy that does them listed above... it is not easy and if ya dont know what you are doing then finding out will cost you another cluster like me lol... i did have to buy a whole new cluster cuz i set off all the needles. but i bought it at the junk yard for 100.00 and build the one out of the 2 i had... bout the heater controls. yes the is 3 bulbs in the back for all the bottons to light up and then there is 2 little ones for the rim aound the round control button, then there is 3 more for the display screen and those 3 are very hard to get to... to answer some ?'s i used the little blue led's you could find at advanced auotparts they are just the little led wit 2 wires on them. they come in a pack of 4 and you will need for the climate controls and the cluster a total of 16 leds. the pack of 4 is bout 10 bucks. these lights will not fit in the original sockets you will have to remove them and build your own. if you could do it all right the first time and not have to replace **** like i did then it should only cost you bout 50.00. i would prefer send it in and have it done.. you pay more but its done right and no troubles...
