Should I buy a lotto ticket?
Bought my car about week and a half ago. The light on the dashboard indicating a rear bulb of some type was burned out was lit. Decided to look at it the other day, and discovered it was the RT clearance bulb - I had just bought a 2-pack of both stop/tail light and clearance bulbs. So I changed the bulb, turned the HLs on, and the indicator light was out! Only had it on for maybe 10 secs. Next morning, get in the car and the indicator light was lit again! Got to work and it was the LT clearance bulb! Changed THAT after work, and checked again, indicator out, only on for about 10 secs. This morning, I get in the car, and it's on AGAIN! Checked when I got to work and now it's the LT taillight bulb! Three bulbs burning out within 10 secs. of each other - that's gotta be a record! Can't wait until tomorrow morning! Talk about getting bulb life down to the nitty-gritty!

I had this problem with my drivers side tail. basically the plug was horribly corroded and caused bad connections to the bulb making my indicator light on and off at times. give that a check.

Yeah, but these sockets are pristine, and it is different bulbs! Well, replaced the LT stop lamp today, light off again - will see in the morning!

Nah - these bulbs just coincidentally burned out very close to each other. Replaced the LH tail/stop bulb, been great ever since. How woud a short make the bulb burn out? I have made a living troubleshooting wiring problems from B-52 bombers to cars, and I am pretty up on how things work and don't work.
