Question So under heavy acceleration...

So under heavy acceleration...

my friend decides to go for my zune near my leg on top of the center console..he hits the shifter into neutral and since i was paying attention to the traffic around me i didnt realize i hit rev limiter for about 2-3 seconds, couldnt hear it cause the music was loud.

now i know the rev limiter is put there for a reason and is there any issue with hitting it, should i check anything out? i am fairly confident that nothing happened but i just need reassurance

I would guess the rev limiter would kick in at a safe rev below what would cause damage. Does the car run any differently? You probably just blew some junk out of the cylinders!

The ECU cuts the fuel at a certain RPM (I have no idea what it is for the 1mz) preventing any engine damage. Don't worry too much about it, toyota built your engine well to handle those rpms. No CEL's, no problems.

It's fine, haha. Don't worry. It's only around 6,750. I was testing it out with a scanner on the OBD2 port the other day.
