2003 - ES300 - What to look for
I'm going to be looking at a 2003 ES300. Is there anything specific to look for on these models and/or this year of the ES300?
For example, is there something to look for that should have been replaced, or are there areas where rust or corrosion is prolific in earlier or later production dates, etc.?
Thanks.

I have a 2003 ES i got used that has been great so far...
just make sure you get one that has been well maintained and you should be ok...these cars are relativly simple and very bulletproof
read up on the 02-05 tranny shifting issues before buying...the shifting on the 2002-2005 ES can be a bit wacky due to the tranny ECU and new 5speed trans, but its a minor issue as the recalibration from lexus and the use of premium fuel have solved the issue completely in my ES.

I bought my 03 ES300 a month ago. No transmission hesitation problem but has the steering clunking noise, which is another detect that you need to watch out for. Otherwise, the car is GREAT! Good luck.
