I am having hell with an eBay seller (doh!) regarding an additional key for my car. First, the key they sent me wasn't the same dimensions all the way down - the last 1/8 of the tip thinned down, and the locksmith couldn't cut the required Y shape in the tip so it would enter the slot smoothly.($70) Then, after all that, I bought a key blank from the locksmith ($50 cut) that DID work, and got the RKE from the eBay replacement key programmed, and find out the transponder in the eBay replacement chip was a 4D - they said my original key was a 4C! Now, searching the internet, everything I find shows that a 4C transponder is for an 02-03 Lexus ES, or a 01-05 IS! Can someone help me out here! My car was built 01/01. Is it possible I have a security system more like the 02 than the 01? Anyway, here I sit with a key frp, the locksmith that fits my door, a key from eBay that doesn't fit anything, and a transponder module from eBay that won't program to my car! And the eBay seller keeps asking for my FCC# - for crikey's sake - there IS no FCC # on an RKE Key - only on a FOB type RKE!
