Default '00-'01 parts fitting on '97?

looking to freshen up my '97 with a few 00-01 parts.

-grille insert
-fog lights
-tail lights

Is the opening on the hood the exact same size? It seems like the 00-01 grille should bolt right in.

Can anyone confirm these parts will bolt up to a '97?
I've seen fogs on ebay but couldn't actually see any tail lights...gotta be some out there somewhere!

Thanks for any help!

There's been a lot of threads about most of these items before. The tail lights would fit without any problems. I believe the fog lights are the wrong shape for the stock 97 bumper so hence wouldn't fit. Not to sure about the grille insert though.

Try going to toyodiyDOTcom (for some reason, CL will not allow that URL here -anyone know why??) and search - they have part numbers, and if the part numbers match, they are interchangeable.

Well, on that site, here's what I found:
1997 ES
81211C LAMP UNIT, FOG LAMP, RH81211-33080 MCV20 1 $217.2181211-33130 MCV20 1 $286.83

2001 ES
81211C LAMP UNIT, FOG LAMP, RH81211-33080 MCV20 1 $217.2181211-33130 MCV20 1 $286.83

Thanks for the help fellas. I haven't gone to that site yet but looking at what you posted mmatheny its odd that the part #s for the 97 and 01 fog lights are the same when they're supposed to be different lights. I was hoping the shape of the case was the same but I like the reflector look on the 01. I'll poke around and see what else I can find...

If the hoods have the same part # for both years that should answer the question of if the grille will swap over.

Could be that site is in error or incomplete - check it out and see if you find out something different.

they should all bolt up. All the 00-01 cars had the fogs with a 'black/dark housing' whereas the prior cars had an clear/chrome housing. Size wise the same thing...

I checked out that site and there are two part numbers for fogs, tails, and front bumpers. ONE part number for the hood. Grille had multiple part numbers for '97 and 2000 but some of the numbers did overlap. Just from looking at more pics of the pre and post 2000 model it looks like the fog lights might be a slightly diff shape so I'm not convinced the clear style will fit in my '97. I'm also not sure the grille will fit. The hood is the same but with the bumper being different the grille could have a slightly different shape (taller). I guess the only way to know is if someone has actually DONE some these mods. Looks like the only mod I'm totally convinced will work is the taillights.

Dimensions are the same. The way it mounts is not.

00-01 has a bolt on the side that holds it into the bumper. The 97-99 has a bolt on the back of it and the adjuster is on the side (where the 00-01) would bolt up.

With that said, a few minutes with a dremel would make it work:

You have to modify the mounting. How, I don't know.

But it's do-able. I've seen it done before...

But judging from your posts you'll have a hard time pulling up your skirt and actually 'DIY'ing' something, so i suggest [instead of thinking too hard] to get a 00-01 bumper cover and be done with it.
