1994 ES300 ac is messing up! HELP!!!!
Does anyone knows what is wrong with my ac.... sometimes it works, sometimes it blows out hot air - most especially when the weather is hot.... I guess just going with flow ..... i took it to the mechanic, they tried to add a freon and told me it wasnt that. They said i need to replace it which would cost me more than $500 for the parts not including labor .... darn it!...and my engine light are also on ...... waaaaaa! i don't know what to do ...... HELP!!!!!!!!!!! NO MULA!

What was the quote of $500 for to replace? Evaporator? Condenser? Compressor? Do you hear the compressor come on when you turn on the ac? You gotta give us a little more info. Also, if your CEL is on, take it to the dealership, AutoZone, or use your own scanner to pull the code.......Then let us no what the code is so we can try to help you....

Fixing your Check engine light is very easy.Pull the instrument cluster out(easily doable) and take the bulb off, there you go,It's not going to bother you never again, guaranteed.Same easy procedure goes for every bulb in there.

It's probably a sticking expansion valve. This subject seems to come up every year when spring arrives, and folks start using their AC.
There have been numerous discussions. Do a search in the ES section for "expansion valve."

I have to problem once and i have to replace the whole part. It happened because one of my friend he played with my ac by turning it all the way to coldest and turn all the way back to hottest again. After that the a/c did work, it just blow only hot air. I tried to sent it to the electronic shop to get it fix (to change something like computer part inside the control unit) but they can't fix it. I need to replace it and wait for the dealer for almost a month.

" sometimes it blows out hot air -"
dude, this is an issue that must be diagnosed and specific things done and and specific things worked on. it's not guaranteed to be one thing just because you have lexus. it could be almost any part of the hvac that is failing. since you're taking it somewhere to have it inspected, and you don't know anything about cars, you really just made this thread to cry to us and to beg for money. I reread your post to make sure, and that is all one can conclude, besides my bad spelling. You need to pay for someone to fix it, or get a manual and equipment and attempt the repair yourself. your posts become specific as you go along and have problems that you figure someone online can remember and shoot you an answer back, fine, post it, but no one can sit here and tell you why your a/c is hot from their computer. again, too many parts. here's a list of what could be wrong:
freon[i.e. R-12] or R134a[depending on what's in your car] undercharged
...related: leak
freon[i.e. R-12] or R134a[depending on what's in your car] overcharged
...someone added it trying to fix it, when really it has any of these other issue
compressor seizure/damage
compressor leak
compressor clutch out of spec
compressor field coil bad
bad wiring to field coil
obstruction in front of condenser
inoperative climate control computer
stuck blend door [causing heater to be used intead of a/c]
thermostatic expansion valve failure
pressure sensor
obstruction in the lines
coolant temp sensor
insufficient drainage of evaporator compartment[water build up]
impatient, not letting the a/c work considering a heavy load [doesn't sound like you have this problem, usually in very hot and VERY humid conditions it will take longer]
don't even try to argue back at me all angry and everything, because this is exactly what you posted:
"waaaaaa! i don't know what to do ...... HELP!!!!!!!!!!! NO MULA!"
maybe your family can help you pay for it. it's hot in california don't wait

coolpass, all of us are not experienced automotive techs.... some of us are newbies... just remember that you were not born knowing evrerything about everything, someone was patient and taught you what you now know...so be respectful of the newbies... rather than chastise them, teach them...as the good book says teach them to fish and feed them for life... (or something like that).....respect everyone....
