Default crackling sound when press brakes at a stop

when I am stopped with my foot on the brakes I get a crackling sound. sometimes it happens only when i have the turn signal on; other times just with foot on the break.

within the past 2 months I had front brakes/rotors, and 3-weeks ago new front tires. I am assuming its coming from the front brakes but really don't know.

Is it while you are stopped? Or WHILE you are stopping? Did you maybe run over a squirrel??

I'm convinced a pet squirrel procured the new swine-bird-human influenza in mexico and tried to come here, hiding on the brake caliper, only to find it very hot, so he jumped off and landed in the engine compartment where he's been eating some random seeds he has stored there. It's really the only thing it could be. That or transmission/break/electrical problems/motor mount/god knows.

When the car is stopped at a light or stop sign with my foot on the brake and mostly when the turn signal is on...but sometimes when the turn signal is not on. The sound is like a low crackling like when a fire crackles a bit. That's the best I can describe it

^^ brake service required. Take apart, sand rotors/pads. there is corrosion build up.
I got 6mos on mine, and they went thru a winter so, it will happen.

Mine do the same thing, on top of that Ceramic pads tends to be louder as well, not sure what you have.

Default Crackling sound

Thank you. I have no idea what type of pads I have. I'll take it to the mechanic who has done my brakes as it is and see what they tell me. They also have recorded when I was last in for the brakes too.
