Ok so my parents are in the proses of buying a new lincon and they have a 1997 es300 with 250k on it which they plan to sell to me for 4k. So heres what i want your opinion on guys. If i did buy it i would have a few things in mind to do to it. I understand from reading around that this car was'int made with performance i mind but i would wana get as much NA hp out of it as i can. I have a pic in my mind of a VIP dragster. I also cant stand the two tone color of the car (white top, grey bottom) so i would want to paint that as well, i love the pure black look. But my main concern is what kind of power i can make from the 1MZ-FE. And can anyone link me good sites to help me out with the hunt for power. Thanks

Paperstree is likely referring to kilometers.
Paperstree,
Paperstree,
- It appears that you're in Canada ("on" listed as your location; that's Ontario?).
- If so you're telling us the car has 250 thousand kilometers on it (~155000 miles), which isn't much at all for these cars.
- You're also likely telling us your parents want you to pay them $4000 Canadian (~$3,425 US) for the ES too.
- That's pretty much in line with one site I pulled a value on (see attached pic below).
- You can have some fun with that engine. The now discontinued TRD supercharger will bolt up to the 1MZ. The cost of the supercharger (s/c) and the installation for it, several people on here declare that a fail on the bang-for-the-buck meter.
- However, if you'll search this forum, there's a member who's recently installed the s/c on his 1MZ and his having a HOOT accelerating and listening to that nice whine. It just depends on how far into it you're wanting and willing to go.
- Check CL here, and ToyotaNation (Camry Gen 3/4 forum) and the Solara site (solaraguy.com?) and you'll find many folks who've had some fun with the 1MZ.
- You might want to review the story of VIP cars. Knowing what they're about will show you that performance and VIP accessory-availability is going to take you away from an ES, instead of towards an ES. (Makes me sad because I like Executive and VIP styling and would LOVE to make mine what they call "VIP Inspired"!)

Assuming canada, i have access to a neat little site. Anyways its a Toyota website that provides the 'canadian black book value'.
Anyways:
**they do not go older than 1999** so price is for a 1999 ES300**
Based on the kilometers entered [250k]
and the options selected, your vehicle's classification
is appraised as: Below Average.
Depending on your vehicle's condition, the value may be appraised within the High and Low range. * less Reconditioning Costs
Low: $2,430.00 High: $4,230.00
Now take away 2 years? 4k = horrid price.

i think i got ripped off for my es.. because it was tax return season and prices were bumped up everywhere.
mine was a 1 owner really good condition 98 es with 184,000 MILES. after taxes/registration all the bs it came out to 6000 dollars... and then a month later i had to change my timing belt/waterpump blah blah for another 800. im sad now
