Default Want your advise on PIONEER AVH-P3100DVD

Hey guys. I have a 98 ES, and I have the opportunity to replace my stock Nakamichi system with the PIONEER AVH-P3100DVD unit for only $175. 1st question does it fit my 98 with Nakamichi? Second question, if it does fit, where can I can get a good double din bracket for it.

Thanks

Yes it would fit. I'm not sure what you mean by bracket since all HU's come with them in the box, if this is a 'used' one than hop onto eBay and find a generic double din mount kit.

In terms of the Bezel, you have to make one to go around the radio itself. There is one company out there that makes a plastic adapter/mounting kit for the ES300 but it is only for a single din radio...

great HU, very good for running a active setup, good crossovers and such. was actually going to use it in my es, but went with a eclipse because it had 5v preouts.

theres a dash kit for you, just about every company makes them, i got mine for like 8 bucks from a local shop.

good luck with the install.

do you want a sound quality system, or are you looking for more of a SPL system?

Well right now I have a 10in 4ohm JBL sub which is going to be used in the new set up, which is perfect for me. It will be powered by a Kicker Kicker ZX400.1 amp. So basically I just want some good speakers that will fit my door jams. Im a pretty easy going guy. Dont need to thump down the street, but i do like bass

just get a good component set for the front and some coaxials for the rear.

Hertz HSK165
Alpine SPR-17S
Image Dynamics CTX65CS

or if your willing to spend more go for some focals. also make sure to deaden the crap out of your doors

From what I understand, I can only put in 5 1/4 speakers not 6.5

did you install it?
How well does it work with the stock speakers?

The LCD on my stereo is bad, the HU still works though. I was thinking why spend $135 for new LCD when you can get the AVH-P3100DVD for under $300 and it added so many features. I already have an amp and single sub, so, I am planning to get this AVH-P3100DVD and run with stock speakers + amp and sub.

any advise?
