disabling DRLs on 97 ES300

disabling DRLs on 97 ES300
Hey all, I'm thinking about installing one of these http://dastern.torque.net/Mods/DRL/DRL1.html
so I can burn my amber marker lights as DRLs instead of my headlights. Has anyone disabled their DRLs? I've done a little poking around online and it sounds like there could be a switch hooked to the parking break that you could tap into. Normally when you let the break off it turns on the lights so if you disable that switch they should stay off.
Assuming most of you don't even have DRLs if you're in the states but in Canada we all have 'em. Some cars use their amber lights as DRLs stock and it looks nice. I'm upgrading my headlight bulbs and I'd rather replace cheap 1157 bulbs than $$ headlights.
