Don't get me wrong, I still recommend all the normal troubleshooting (such as compression check etc). I threw the fan thing in there many people (myself included) do not always check the gauges often enough.
This problem started with a long trip, 100k (I assume kilometers), but 10 miles (not sure why the conversion) it overheats. BUT they did not indicate if they were on the freeway or not, and if not, how long they were driving on secondary streets. Unfortunately the fan setup on these things add several more things that could fail, and unless something obvious shows up (blockage in rad or such) I would look at the fan

Now as far as "trat" and some of the other terms. I have no clue what that means

I do think it is funny they think 100k (60 miles) is a long trip, Here in Texas that would be considered a quick trip to the store to pick a couple things up. Of course we would blow a headgasket ourselves if we were paying several dollars for a liter of petrol (gas) LOL

Hi George Jet & Kelsey Boy, big thanks for all your replies. I have taken all your info in and passed it on , but both of you are right with your comments, we used the ES today on a 20 mile round trip with no problems, coolant levels all up, only a very slight temp rise, blast of the heater, then back down,as if it never happened . we will go with goerge jet recommendations, and monitor closely, "Cheers"
