Default '94 suspension

hey guys, anyone has any idea what the hell those 4 bars [2 each side]with bushings on each end on the rear suspension are called?they go from the center of the car to the bottom of the strut.I have one of them making some noise and it has quite a bit of slack.I lifted the car[i have a hoist] and it looks like i have to remove the gas tank to get that thing out and that's not happening any time soon...I could not find anything searching for it and it sound strange no one had this problem before.I have "only" 330.000 km on my '94,are they supposed to break so soon? They are only 15 years old damn it.

Those things are control arms [in toyota/lexus, specifically, lower control arm 1 and lower control arm 2]
[If I remember correctly, sometimes they are called links, in certain context and instances -- not to be confused with stabilizer-to-control-arm / sway-bar-to-control-arm links-- but don't worry about this]

thing that wore out - bushings

sometimes you can a specific lube them up to reduce or eliminate nosie, other times you just have to replace the bushing.

yes it's normal

Ok,thank's,i am going to put some silicone lube on it and see what happens.Anyway,i can see that i can remove the rear ones but the front ones[on the gas tank side] look like the gas tank has to be removed first to take the friggin bolt out.Did you ever changed one of them?

well.. i am not good at posting pictures here, last time i tried to post a picture of my engine...you did that for me.Anyway, those control arms are bolted to the car in 4 points,2 of them on the bottom of the strut each side (i don't know what's called in english) and the other end is bolted to the center of the car.Now the funny part..to take it out it's "easy" those things are seized solid but it gets better..2 long bolts which keeps them in place in the center of car are placed inside out, means those japs had the tank out before they put those damn things in,if you release the nut you cant take the bolt out because tank is in the way and it's a long bolt. And i guess it's not a selfsealin tank.Just take a look at yours without lifting the car you will get the idea.
