well because it's lexus/toyota obdII . on nissan and honda, there's a way to get the codes, without a scanner, even on obdII. i wonder if someone hasn't figured out the way to get the codes on toyota obdII without scanner

got the code read but they didn't have the part in stock, so I went somewhere else and got it (cheaper too).
since I didn't get the part from the original shop, I can't ask them to clear the code for me.. haha.
If I disconnect the battery, will that clear the light? is there a security code for the music that I'll have to worry about? The display is blacked out basically and pretty unreadable . Do I only disconnect the negative or both?
I have to get it smogged really soon.. so I need to take care of this, been lazy

there was only one code.. for an o2 sensor. I just can't go back to the same people to clear it...
I know I need to drive the car at least 30 miles once the light goes away before I can smog.. but first I need to clear the light.
So disconnecting the battery will work? I don't want to mess up the radio since I can't see what it says..
