new muffler on es300
Hi!
I'm planning to replace old muffler to new after market muffler.
I don't want it loud, want it like stock but different look.
Anybody has after marker END muffler only? not whole cat-back exhaust.
Is it still loud if I change ONLY the end muffler?
Please check the link for muffler.

I once had a very similar looking APC muffler (1 in 2 out) on my RX300 with the rest of the exhaust system stock.
It gives more of a nice growl. Sometimes sounded like a Porsche 911 when you step on it (that's the way my cousin described it). I wouldn't characterize it as loud. It won't have any harsh tones or what I like to call farting sounds. You have enough things to dissipate noise behind the muffler (a resonator, the main catalytic converter and two precats) to deaden those harmful noises.
Even the very open system I have on my RX300 is tame by comparison to say diesel trucks. I realized this the other day when I let my girlfriend drive my RX300 and I followed her in her Expedition and could hear my exhaust.

This thread might offer you some information and hope. It begins related to the 4-cylinder, but keep reading (and enjoy Adam smacking a kid who thinks CarDomainguage is the way to post ).
