Default "98" es300 outside & heater temp. problem

The outside temp reads 122 all the time and the heat only works if you turn it to "Hot" (above 85). I'm not sure if they are related or if they are two diffrent problems.

accontrol.pdfsounds like the sensor is open. Run the diagnostics and see if you have any codes.

Ok, try this, it shows how to test the outside sensor. I think that would be a good way to proceed.

I checked the ambient temperature sensor and found that it is bad. I have one on order, we will see if that fixes the problem. I will let you know. Thanks for your help.

The new temperature sensor fixed the problem. But just unplugging it made everything work right. Thanks again

You're welcome. My quess would be with the sensor unpluged, the controller realized that it no longer had a valid input, and bypassed it.
