how do i make the beep sound louder?

i just replaced the battery for the key fob, but i can barely hear the sound whenever you lock and unlock the car.. nope, it's not my imagination.. is there any way to make sound as loud as before? don't have the manual in handy.

What year is your car?

I have a 99 and there is a little **** under the steering column, all the way down past the trim piece under the dash.

Same, There is a little **** under the dash on the drivers side to adjust "beep" volume
