Default [Help] So it finally stopped raining...

Hopefully today it doesnt rain, atleast not right after i get out of work like it has for the past week. >.<

anyhow...

while at autozone.... i purchased some mobil 10-30 high milage oil (not synthetic) --- is that a good choice? (car has over 125k)

also i picked up a haynes manual... i looked up the speed sensor and it says that it only needs to be replaced if the odo isnt working correctly... im thinking "wtf?" my odo is working perfectly but my check engine is giving me the code for o2 sensor (b1s1) and the p1705 for the speed sensor... whys that?

so i jus called lexus and asked them again what the code was... this time they told me it wasnt the speed sensor and that it has something to do wit the inner transmission.. they told me to clear the code and if it comes back to have the tranny pressure tested...

As far as the Mobil 1 oil, you are fine with that. I use that myself in my 92LS.

As far as the code is concerned, what gave you indication that it was the speed sensor? Haynes manuals are good reference points for most things mechanical, however I have come to find that alot of the codes don't really cross reference well into Lexus diagnosis. I know the ES pretty much shares the Camry platform, but when trying to look the codes up in the manual, you will find one thing and it will be diagnosed as another. The fact that you took the extra step to call Lexus and tell them what code you got, and they were able to point you in the right direction may be an indication. What is the car doing/performing, other than the check ingine light?

the car seems fine to me... the transmission doesnt feel to be having any problems... i do have to replace the o2 sensor (b1s1)

i already bought the speed sensor iunno if i should replace it anyway or take it for a refund since it seems to be not what i need...

Sorry to hear about your troubles man.

I would take the speed sensor back for a refund. If it's not broke, don't fix it.
