Default ES330 car keyed

hey guys havent been on for a while but a new update on the car......one faithful friday (a month ago )night i drove home from a party and saw a spot on my block that i can park at....weird 2a.m. and a spot open whatever i parked there then the saturday morning at 8.30 a.m. went to drive to work and seen that my car got keyed one big *** line through the driver side then all around the hood to make it look like a tribal and my rear right quarter panel. my god i thought i was going to kill someone on by the end of the day i was fuming until i got it fixed i didnt take pics of it but the whole job cost me $1700 cos i also had to get my front and back bumpers done as well..they looked pretty bad...is that a good price?? didnt wanna do insurance that woulda killed my rate and it occured on my block...now is there any advise that i can take up when taking care of the new paint????? how long can i wait to wax it or go to the car wash cos i still havent done any of that since it got painted

Sorry to hear the news... Hate to see an amazing car treated like that.

Don't wax it for at least 30 Days.

You can wash it if you HAVE to before 30 days. But you really want the paint to harden.

It doesn't sound like you are very educated about car detailing..."Take it" to the car wash is a no no...

I didn't have to look to know you're a newyorker. Sorry 'bout the car. Unless you're in the 5 boros, you might think about filing a police report. This may not be the first time someone has damaged a car in that location, and suburban PDs are responsive to this crap, unlike NYPD. I'd be furious.

Besides the advice on washing and waxing, I'd say the best way to take care of that paint is not park in that damn spot any more, dude.

Yeah, I'd be paranoid as hell about spending all that money to have it repainted and then maybe finding later that it got keyed again.
Sucks that it happened at all, but it really sucks that it happened so close to home. Hope you don't have a Lex hater living on your block. Good luck.
