...aka the front motor mount, on some cars that is. This is my wifes car with 85k miles on it and I'm looking for tune up parts and suggestions for same, as well as info on the thread title.
I was out in her car last week as the passenger,(never drive it), and was hearing a loud tinny sound under certain loads like going slowly up a long grade. It was definitely a heat shield rattling and that's where I started looking and found nothing wrong under the car. I ended up finding the upper torque arm bushing torn away from the metal housing it sits in and the more I looked at it the more obvious it was that it was bad. I attributed the torn bushing to the vibrations I was hearing, those being transmitted elsewhere as a sympathetic vibration.
Has anyone else had any dealings with the bushing and if so where did you get a replacement part, is it strictly a dealer item>
For spark plugs, I was planning on using these...

Does anyone have any other plug recommendation or are these acceptable for the car? Any other tune up suggestions for what I should be doing would be much appreciated.
Thanks again,

I'll check out that plug thanks. The mount is in front and on the left of the spark plug cover as you look under the hood, could be the dog bone if that's the shape it has, I'd have to go look.

It is probably the dog bone, it costs about $25 - $30 dollars and takes about 15 minutes to replace. Mine was worn and making the same rattling noise under engine load. The new one took care of it. Good Luck!

Thanks tom...That's got to be the same one, it's the only one there. For my cars I've replaced the OEM bushing with an am polyurethane type but I need to stay OEM with this car.
How accessible is the throttle body on these cars for cleaning?
