Default Timing

Sean, next time I see you online, I want to talk to you about the timing. What has happened with it. I remember you saying that you were doing it on Friday.

I'm not sure if i'm going to advance mine or not -- obviously i didnt do it this weekend. I asked a few of my friends who I really trust with anything when it comes to cars on their timing advance opinion. 3 said yes, 3 said no. And the answers were all extremities, such as "you need to run race gas and even then you might mess something up" and "yea, let's do it and get you into the 14's." So, i'll make up my mind before test and tune on Thursday.

i want to advance my timing so bad now. I need to find someplace to do it for me. So I don't mess anything up.

As far as the fuel question i run sunoco 94 i have run 93 without any problems. When my friend who owns a gas station said i can adjust the timing i was thrilled because i know how much of a difference it can make now i have to go chase down some is300. I already took a handfull of acuras and hondas the biggest thing with racing these cars is that people take you as a joke until the race is on and you blow them away its great. I forgot with the fuel as long as the motor doesn't ping you will be fine just remember your more likely to get detonation in the hot weather than the cold.

My dad told me he didn't want me doing that to the car, since he is the one who paid for it. He says it will mess it up. What should I have done to it that will be safe for the car and still increase my speed. if I can even get to 7.5 that would be awesome. At least I would be able to beat a honda or acura. I wouldn't want to be showing off the speed all the time though, just when they initiate the race.
