Question Fumoto Oil Drain Valve?

The folks on my Subaru sites swear by this clever device....anyone here use one on their ES? If so, thoughts? It's suppose to make it much more easier with no mess & still get all the old oil out.

Those are pretty neat....my friend has one on his subaru and it makes oil changes much easier...
my issue is that it allows someone an easy oppertunity to purge your vehicle of its oil, and it also can get damaged if you hit something with it...

Yeah i've been considering it after replacing my stripped oil pan last week. I have the same concerns though.

Cool

I understand the possibility of hitting something....but someone purging it? How would they get under the car to even reach it (our cars are fairly low to the ground) or even know you have it in the first place? One could have a socket & loosen the drain plug too couldn't they? Not as easily I know, but still...

I am very interested in that and may even try it for the fun of it.
But then again, how hard is it to take out a plug and put it back in.
I do like the messlessness of it.
I might put a wire tie or get the secure clip for the lever. I am thinking of ice chunks and stuff in the winter. I would hate for me to drive over some hard snow and have the lever open up. But then again, it could be prevented if the lever was positioned correctly in the first place.

Thumbs up

I just ordered 2 for my vehicles with extra gaskets for both valves just in case.

Also for Canadian customers here is a site to check out...
