hi - i have a 94 ES300 w/ 185k miles on it. i was driving the car today down the road w/ cruise on at 50 mph and all of a sudden i felt something (in hindsight like turning off motor) and looked down at tach and it was on 0 rpm's....and i believe the battery light was on (that might just be due to position of the key at that moment).

i coasted over to side of road, and tried to start it and it turned right over. i've only seen this happen once and it is very worrying feeling to have.

it seems w/o waiting for a complete failure (i.e. it won't start again) there has to be some higher probability causes of this that could be addressed.

wondering if other have had similar issue and what the fix was - thanks in advance!

yes - but it's been on for about 8 or 10 yrs - back then, when checked, it had to do w/ emissions only so i never got it fixed

Um, don;t you think it would be a smart idea to fix what the issue is so if the CEL comes on for a different reason, you know?
