Default So I had a little time today....

and decided that I wanted to put a light on the bottom of the mirror. I attached a tape light strip of LED's and ran the wiring to the dome light. The point of this was very similar to that of the Audi A6 or LS430, when I press unlock, the light glows and when I lock the doors the light goes out. When I connected the wiring to the dome light, everything lit up and worked perfectly. After completing everything, running the wires and hiding them, it just kept blowing my fuse. Any clue on what I could've done wrong that would result in this?? I was really hoping that this would be a great little mod. I have seen lit up door handles as well as puddle lights and I know that these are all connected to the dome light and figured this would be just the same. Any input?

My puddle lights are not connected to the dome light... they run through the cigerette lighter on an on/off switch from an led strip.

Yea, try a different power source, the cig lighter as Parker stated would be the best place to start.

Well I thought about that but I just want them to turn on when I unlock the car and shut off when I lock it. If I run it a constant source they will be lit all the time unless I connect a switch which I don't wanna do.

If you attach it to the clock it will power up when you turn on the car and power down when its off. Just food for thought that's where my radar and sirius are powered off of
