Looking to get a used ES300.
I am looking to spend up to 15K on it if needed, but hope to come under that.
Looking at cars with less than 100K on the odometer, which puts me right around 2001-2003 model years.

Besides checking under the car oil/coolant and other leaks and proper records for all services performed on the car, are there any other important or known issues with these cars that I should look into?

Maintenance records are key as you mention.....anything over 90k miles, check to make sure the timing belt, water pump & related items have been replaced. Good luck.
