Default 2000 ES Instrutment Cluster bulbs out

Hi,

My 2000 ES300 instrument cluster bulbs went out. Is there a DIY to replace all the bulbs behind the cluster ?

Thanks,

Update...

I double checked the cluster last night, the bulbs were not out but very dim. It was very hard to see so it felt like all bulbs were out. Also the light behind the shifter was really "out". Any idea to fix this dim cluster bulbs issue and how to replace the bulb behind the shifter ?

TIA.

If you are talking about the lbulb that lights up PRND2 I just changed mine to a super bright LED. Pretty simple though, take off your heated seat switches (if applicable) and disconnect, take a flat head screw driver and pop off all four corners of the wooded surround. Then, there is a black cover (the one that displays PRND2) it has four pins around it pop those off and you will see the bulb. I would highly recommend getting a white LED as it looks 100X better. It is a #74 led, similar to the 194 LED but a miniature version. As far as the cluster, no clue yet. That is next weeks project. Good Luck.

Yes, I meant the bulb behind PRND2. Thanks for the procedure. I am still looking for the procedure to deal with the instrument cluster or dimmer control.

Thanks,

zajac. Where did you get the white LED #74 from, can this be bought at any auto parts store or even wal-mart.

I bought mine from www.superbrightleds.com they are in St. Louis but I checked on www.v-leds.com and they have them too. I would stay away from wal-mart or ebay for led bulbs. The guys at super bright were very knowledgeable and also solved my bulb out warning light after I connected the GS300 led strip on my 2000.
